Alfasud 1.7 16v ex. Class F Racer

Post by adsblacksud »

Afternoon all,

I collected my car from the bodyshop yesterday and its looking a bit shiney so I thought I would share a few photos with you.

If the weather's not too bad then I'll be taking it up to Castle Combe for tomorrow's raceday and to investigate the hothatch championship which I think it is eligible for but for which it will probably need a stronger engine.

Immediate plans are a decent exhaust, carb set up and ignition mapping and some more trackdays. Next year I'm looking at joining a club and doing some sprints/hillclimbs with my son.

Cheers,

Adam

Thanks Colin,

Unlike some of the meticulous artisans on this forum all the hard work was carried out by a bunch of great blokes at Spray Tec in Bath - all I did was paint the wheels and turn up at their works every now and again looking a bit angsty.

At Castle Combe today.
I also spotted a Sprint QV in need of some tlc, a lovely metallic red 105 GTV that looked like it had been given the Alfaholics treatment and two Alfa 145 QVs. I had my hands full with my grand daughters so didn't get to take any photos. This was taken by my son.

I hope the moderators don’t mind this, but here’s a video made to promote my son’s small business featuring glimpses of our Sud and Alfa 33 that I thought you might like to see.
You might be surprised to learn how enthusiastic the youngsters are for the Alfas.

We aren't against promotion of companies Adam, especially ones with a clear love of Alfa's.
No harm done 8-)
if it's successful a donation towards running costs of the forum should ease the conscience :D

Gorgeous Sud Adam.
When I grow up (I'm 49) I would love a track Sud.
I have a track 166 2.5 which kind of fell into the role (saved it from the crusher).
It's good fun but too big for our local track which suits a smaller more nimble car...

Thanks for the kind words Mufasa

The Sud’s not been used much this year as my son and I have been fettling and using the red 33 which is currently with Shrew for an exhaust but I’ll be back out track before the end of the year a couple of times.

Nimble is the right word for the Sud though and it even more of a pleasure to drive now it is nice and shiny
