Hillclimb Kudos Coupe
Hillclimb Kudos Coupe
Hello Guy's,
After "lurking" on here for several years, I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself and practice uploading an image!
Have been running this little Alfa Boxer based car for over 10 years on the UK Speed Hillclimb scene.
I would also like to thank BLS and AHM for their support / advice over the years.
Best wishes,
Graham.

The diffuser and rear flap look really well integrated - could you tell a difference on the quicker sections?grboulter wrote:Thanks for the kind message, you will notice I took your kind advice as soon as the Reg's allowed re. rear end Aero....

Re: Hillclimb Kudos Coupe
Great looking car. What engine have you selected? 1.7 quad cam 16V?
All the best,
Simon

Oh that sound.
Great clip Graham.

Thanks Guy's, what a lovely warm welcome! -Much appreciated.
Yes, thanks again Bryan! -Much more stable at high speeds and most importantly cut some of the drag.
(-The diffuser came first as it was "below the axle line", but then a moved into the modified class allowed the flap and slicks!)
It's an all steel 16v boxer with a heavily modified 145/6 box.
-We found the exhaust design was critical which in turn unlocked the rev's!
Here's a passenger ride when it was on road tyres...

Again, thanks for the kind words and welcome!

Re: Hillclimb Kudos Coupe
That was a smooth run for Shelsey, seen many make a much worse job of it than that.
What time and top speed do you hope to get ?

Re: Hillclimb Kudos Coupe
Very nicely done. Can you use tyre warming devices? Or do you use very soft compounds? Must be almost impossible to get your tyres to any sort of temperature otherwise.

I like this...............alot. Last vid engine sounded epic, care to share what internals have been done?.
Re: Hillclimb Kudos Coupe
Hello Guy's,
I've managed to get into the 32's at Shelsley, with trap speeds of 92/3mph.
On slicks, a 31 is possible, perhaps a little lower.
No tyre warming devices allowed, only the "spin pre-start". (-But I don't do that to protect the "weak" Alfa gearbox.)
-You are indeed right, no temperature in tyres, brakes, etc.
Hillclimb slicks are like bubblegum and an utter joy to drive on by comparison. (-Again, the worry is the weak transmission!)
Steel crank & rods, forged pistons, race heads, modest cams.
Thanks for your interest!
Best, Graham.

For some reason I can never find this video when I search on Youtube!
Graham's engine sounds even more epic from the outside... spectator comment says it all
