Alfas at Festival of Speed

Post by Bluesuit »

Had my first taste of the Goodwood festival of speed at the weekend, and I like it! We only did the Saturday but there is so much to see you definitely need the weekend I reckon. Spotted some nice Alfas in amongst lots of other nice things:

Not a patch on previous years I fear, but glad to hear you enjoyed it anyway.

You've spotted one more Alfa than I did :D

I guess if you've been to these things a number of times they perhaps don't resonate so much after the first few times?

Perhaps, but this year was definitely missing Alfa content, with no Alfa pavilion and Scuderia Portello only fielding 2 or 3 cars for the hillclimb. Alfa used to be a major sponsor of the event and up until last year had a strong presence, not just on the track, but in the concours event as well. Perhaps 4C sales mean they don't have to make the same effort to attract new customers?

It wasn't just the Alfa content that was disappointing - Alpine were celebrating 60 years this year and brought 6 cars, none of which were an A310. Shocking!
