Sprint 1.5 Veloce cloverleaf restoration

Post by Sasp »

Welding to begin tomorrow, very excited to begin the restoration and see improvements during the process. Many parts now sourced including doors, rear valance, gearbox, headlining and seat material. 16" alloys will be fitted and a colour change once bodywork is complete. Still unsure if to try to source an original 1.5 Veloce engine or fit a 1.7. Hoping to be complete by the time Summer eventually arrives!!
They can give you headaches at times but once you have the Alfa fever that's it ha !

Thanks all, I would like to source another engine and undecided if to go 1.5 Veloce if available or 1.7. I believe the engine has been changed at some stage and leaning towards going 1.5 Veloce but does anybody have/know of one, preferably ready to fit ?
Regards
Nigel

I’d have a word with John at Justsuds, I’m sure he’ll have what you need.

Welding complete by mid week and returning to the body shop for paintwork. Bonnet, doors and tailgate had some coats applied. Progress happening daily and great to restore a classic Sprint, fingers crossed it will be ready for the sun when it arrives

Great work and very good progress, you'll be done in no time!

Like the simple door hangers, I bought a purpose built one and made another, yours look much simpler and probably just as good to use! Good access to paint the underside and inner door at same time, another thing I must get around to making :)
Giulietta JTD 170

Lancia Flavia coupe 1.8 1963
Lancia Dedra turbo
Renault Clio 197 RS

I'm bad with people things
But I should have tried more
