Not me Keith, I sold it as a bare shell in august last year, it’s been built back up for the owner to race.

Re: Ti Sud or Sprint wanted.

There’s what seems like a nice green sud ti on eBay, over budget but you never know. Apologies if it’s owned by a forum member, but could have cleaned the bird sh!t off the drivers seat before taking pics and putting up for 10k........especially as it does look very nice overall. There’s a 4 door on...

Re: Alfasud 16v Dyno Day

Bigger carbs might not do that much without other modifications. I went from 40’s to 45’s on a 1500 full race, minimal bhp increase but some extra torque, but I also went from Weber to Dellorto so the carb type may have also made a difference. Might be worth looking at chokes and jets first if the e...

Re: Alfasud 16v Dyno Day

Ahhh, the black art of rollers and bhp and losses. All I can say is that if the chap thinks his rollers are relatively well calibrated then that sounds about right and healthy. Alfa quoted 137bhp, my friends very mildly ported 16v on road cams, road exhaust and std injection and air box showed 150bh...

Re: Torque steer

I remember torque steer on all of mine, less so on the 1298cc one with just 70bhp if I remember right. Th s3 33 we had also did it. Is the geometry all spot on, toe etc ? Std size wheels an tyres? Shocks an springs all good ? Interestingly my racer doesn’t really do it, but the low and hard suspensi...

Re: Motor Mystery...

Valve not seating, closing, bent should cause quite a compression drop surely ? Even the slightest leak is going to reduce pressure.

Hope you find it and it’s not too drastic.

Re: Motor Mystery...

Before you do any major changes, is it just me that is questioning why no smoke or oil usage if you have bore wear ? When I had a broken bottom ring on one bore, it blew oil into the catch tank / breather so used it, it was down on power. Are you doing enough miles to notice oil usage ? One of the q...

That could run in the new hscc 80’s production car series as it stands spec wise. Fingers crossed you get a decent price as it looks pretty good overall.

I’d keep the Sud and the Z4. The Z should be a bit more practical to look after, the Sud a bit special but best of both worlds perhaps ?

Re: Giulietta front lower arm

I’d keep the Giulietta until it drops dead Kev. I know I defected to the dark side but the aim was 200k plus miles, same reason you give which is all you get is a newer plate, the cars themselves were still nice. First one was 185k but clutch was getting ready so px’d it, second was at 160k when it ...

Sud or 33 ?

When you say slam panel, do you mean the flat section above the radiator across the front inner wings ?

I think I have a used but good straight sud one.

I like the original panda, the new one is like a bit sit up and beg. But the newer panda is still better than the breadvan style polo’s and Honda jazz etc.

I’ve lost the fight Dave, and so long as she doesn’t crash it then it will retain a decent resell value when that time comes.

Fiat 500

Comrades My daughter is 17 soon, and wants a fiat 500. Can’t believe the asking prices of used ones, but if we get one it would be the earlier 69bhp 1.2 petrol version (the 0.9 twin air looks to be higher insurance). Anyhow, do any of you have any experience of owning and driving one that you can sh...

Hmmm......thing is Gary I’ve seen the Sud numerous times, in fact I’ve touched it numerous times

I’d hang on to the sud and the z4. Imagine the sight and sound of that sud at 8000rpm, awesome.

I like the fiat but not more than a sud.

However it’s what you want, not what I would want.

Re: Too many projects... again!

Much as the z4 would be epic with the M3 straight 6, I’d try and go with the sud and Tarquini. However if push came to shove then the Sud and the z4, bit of modern racing in the zed and classic in the sud. Suspect tarquini needs a lot of work but with the U.K. Dunlop series you might get a decent am...
