I went with the badge type (cross and snake) rather than cloverleaf.Sud 145 wrote:I thought you said you needed the long type - or was that just me?
I can check it next time I get out to where the car is.
So if it's the short one it's good news right?
That was the one still available to order?

Re: Grabbing front brakes
With inboard front brakes i dont think you should ever "spread/ force" pads back (unless you already know adjustor is kanckered). I would suggest use either the 5mm allen key for the outer, or the 7mm socket on the inners to get the pistons moving. If it is tight on the adjustor then i have tried t...

Re: Grabbing front brakes
If I remove the unworn pad and put a piece of wood in its place..... and operate the brakes a little.....should move the piston? I have a piston spreading tool here to push it back. Any thoughts before I do it? Dave Manually adjusted, 5mm allen key one side a 17mm nut on the other to the best of my...

Re: 1984 Gold Cloverleaf Sud Resto
Quick update: I've got the rear seats, rear seatbelts and the rear parcel shelf in so the back half of the car is almost finished! I did manage to unreel the DS front seatbelt so it's in place now. I tried to faff with the handbrake cable reattachment and gave up - I'm going to leave that to the mec...

Thanks for all the input guys-it really does help. I have decided to refit the original seats for NCT (MOT) after I get the belts and handbrake sorted. Quick question re the rear pillar badges - specifically the rubber gaskets that they sit on: Anyone know where I can source both sides? I have the b...

Latest update: Bumpers back on but will need to be revisited as I used a black restorer but someone has previously sprayed them so they're patchy. I did dinitrol the cavities thanks to Frank but of course forgot to do the sills via the holes for the side trim! Boot, tailgate trim and door car...

Alfa_Japan, spot on mate. The car had been crashed and the indicators were incorrect and the headlamp washers were missing too. It also had a plain black grille, which I did replace but am often tempted to reverse. I will be going off piste with the interior too. Update: today I refitted the headlin...

Thanks Kev. I was looking for your opinion re the relative quality of the work. It’s not Mr Metcalfe standard but the time and price reflect that. Looking forward to putting it back together.
I was told Owatrol oil for the bumpers. What would you recommend?

Re: 1984 Gold Cloverleaf Sud Resto
No bother. FOr what it's worth I have managed to get the GTV rear seats to fit in the back of my Sprint. Yes, they are narrower, however if you get a couple of the plastic centre sections, half them and from there you have the infill for either side :-) I did see that, nice work, especially matchin...
