Re: My Sud restoration.

Coming on nicely Lou.

I think you said that you wanted to paint the completed car black? In my humble opinion, the combination of a black engine bay with that 'Lou's Trade Mark blue' engine block will look absolutely superb! :D

National Alfa Day 2018

It's time to start the countdown to this year's National Alfa Day to be held at Weston Park in Staffordshire on July 1.

I'll be organising a dedicated parking area for Alfasuds and Sprints so please let me know if you would like a space in our display and I'll book you in.

Thank you.

Re: Spring Alfa Day 2018.

The battery on my camera/phone died at Duxford this weekend while I was taking pictures of the Alfasud model parking area so I asked some of my friends to take some more photographs for me as I didn't want the opportunity to be missed. So, here they are. There's some real cracking shots among them.....

Re: Spring Alfa Day 2018.

Just a heads up for any 'Sud or Sprint owners going to Spring Alfa Day at Duxford this weekend.

If you arrive in a 'Sud, on entry please ask to be directed to the Alfasud Register parking area. I'll be there to help organise a display of our cars.

Many thanks. See you there!

No. In fact these are exact replica stickers as originally applied to the inside of the front windscreen when the cars left the factory.

Re: 1984 Gold Cloverleaf Sud Resto

I agree with Kev. The main thing is to definitely ensure that all of the rust rust's chopped out of corroded panels and new metal let in. My own resto' project suffered in places with the rusty panels being hammered/bashed in with multiple layers of filler rammed in to cover the rust then sanded to ...

Looks to me that someone has tastefully modified their Sud. Black plastic was de rigeur at the time but this Sud has been updated nicely. It must have taken ages to prep mind :o

Re: It begins...

Ouch !! that rear roof looks nasty Colin. :o Pleased to see it is getting sorted and you are happy. Moving along nicely. It's triple-skinned in places Keith but the bodyshop know what they're doing and they're confident of getting good results. It's a tricky one but not impossible. The structural i...

Re: It begins...

With the rear panel repairs completed, work has begun on the rear of the roof panel which if you remember had been crudely bodged in Alfie's previous life. Once the two inch deep layer of filler had been removed, the true extent of the damage could be seen. It's obvious to me that whoever did this b...

Re: It begins...

OK. I've been away on holiday in Ireland but have returned to some more excellent work by the bodyshop. Previous pictures in this thread will show you what a mess the rear panel was in thanks to rust breaking out around the holes for the rear spoiler attachment points and one or two other areas too....

Re: It begins...

Apologies to those of you of a nervous disposition... :o The Sprint's rear wheel arches were made up mainly of filler so all the grot has been cut out and the panel taken back to bare metal. There's no good news as to what this revealed though. The inner wheel arches have corroded where the ...

Update. I'm conscious that it's been a little quiet recently. In a nutshell, progress has I'm afraid been at pedestrian pace. I won't bore you with the details but the bodyshop I'm using have regrettably had staffing issues for the last few months. In June they really thought that they had found the...
