Hello Phil, Here you go. First two are around steering arm apertures where we found the stress cracks Next four show how we attached the Alfa 33 bars including an additional plate on the intermediate bulkhead Next four show the roll cage tubing brace from the A-post to the underside of the wing rail...

Re: Alfasud 1.7 16v ex. Class F Racer

I hope the moderators don’t mind this, but here’s a video made to promote my son’s small business featuring glimpses of our Sud and Alfa 33 that I thought you might like to see. You might be surprised to learn how enthusiastic the youngsters are for the Alfas. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yuODtd88C...

Re: Chassis strengthening

Hello Phil My car was showing signs of fatigue at the front end, there were stress cracks on the inner wings around the aperture where the steering-arms poke into the wheel wells so we carried out the following strengthening mods. Plated around the steering arm apertures Seam welded around the upper...

Re: 2 Racers for sale

Well we (my son and I) were due to do a track day at Castle Combe on the 18th March but it was sold out when we went to book it but there was a place left for one on an earlier event on 9th March so we nabbed that. We got the 33 into the garage and found water contamination in the oil, the rear damp...

Free 95bhp engine

I have a bare 1490 95bhp engine if anyone wants it for spares - it’s been standing in my garage since 1998! no water pump, carbs, belts etc. Yours for free if you want to collect, otherwise it’ll be going off to be turned into baked bean cans

Thanks

C&CCC Article on Supercharged 33s

Evening,

Following a recent conversation with Lou which resulted in my needing to clear garage space, in my pile of old magazines I came upon this article spotlighting an Alfa Romeo UK Turbo conversion and a Westune Supercharging conversion which I trust you will be interested in.

Thanks,

I couldn’t agree more with Lauren. It’s great to see a really honest looking old Sud and not the inaccessible garage queen look that makes you scared to use it (what have I done to my car??) Reminds me of photos of the night rallying cars in motoring news, motorsport magazine etc and takes me back t...

Re: Back From the Body Shop

At Castle Combe today.
I also spotted a Sprint QV in need of some tlc, a lovely metallic red 105 GTV that looked like it had been given the Alfaholics treatment and two Alfa 145 QVs. I had my hands full with my grand daughters so didn't get to take any photos. This was taken by my son.

Re: Back From the Body Shop

Thanks Colin,

Unlike some of the meticulous artisans on this forum all the hard work was carried out by a bunch of great blokes at Spray Tec in Bath - all I did was paint the wheels and turn up at their works every now and again looking a bit angsty.

Alfasud 1.7 16v ex. Class F Racer

Afternoon all, I collected my car from the bodyshop yesterday and its looking a bit shiney so I thought I would share a few photos with you. If the weather's not too bad then I'll be taking it up to Castle Combe for tomorrow's raceday and to investigate the hothatch championship which I think it is ...

Re: Vacuum Leaks/running issue under load

I had the similar issue as fluffyduff - fuel flow restriction draining carbs on a 16v - car was laid up for a couple of years and crud in tank eventually worked its way to the fuel pump gauze filter. Whilst waiting for ATP to reduce their tank price to a decent level I removed the old tank - cleared...

1.7 16v Exhaust

I'm looking for a manifold/system for a 1.7 16v for my Sud with outboard brakes as per one of the following.

I've tried Shrew but not heard back so I'm wondering if anyone else has a source/contact?

Thanks,

Hello Ali

Do you have any photographs of your complete exhaust routing?
I seem to remember that your exhaust (used to) run directly rearwards without going up and over the axle, however I am easily confused.

Thanks
