Re: I'm more than just a car nerd!

I am sure we could do something, but the Sud won't be out till next year now as I have a few jobs to do, plus I won't tax her till the Spring.
The trusty 156 is what I would be in. I love that car as well.

Re: Tax Disc Holder.

Good Idea for the Classic Alfa Forum sticker, I wish I was "arty".
It will be a show of support..... especially at AROC meets.
I have a reproduction tax disc, as I need something in the old girls original holder :D

Re: I'm more than just a car nerd!

Thanks guys I appreciate your comments. You will see her at your boxer meet I am sure. I was talking to Kev about his plans for next year to get a good gathering. Looking forward to that. I plan to have a fettle over the winter break to get her running a bit smoother and adjust the brakes, plus obvi...

Hi Ted and gang,
Just a quick message to confirm that the Cadwell day is still on?
Hope it is as I am looking forward to meeting up and putting faces to names and seeing some Alfas on the track.
Cheers.

Re: Alfasud SI Ti 1976 Restoration

The door looks great, wish mine had been that good.
I agree with Shrew, about the prep process. Thorough de-grease and dry, and a thorough etch inside and out.
Most quality etches have rust inhibiting properties (so they tell us !!) so that helps with the protection.
Well done.

014.JPG No, just a few days of sanding, going through the grades dry, then wet flatting then polishing up...... x5 !! :x I didn't lacquer them as the casting is pitted and each year I give them a re-buff prior to the next years use. Start of the year they come up like chrome, by the end they have q...

Re: I'm more than just a car nerd!

Hi Shrew, Yes, you over complicated it. They are Cosmic alloys. I still have the sticker off the inside saying fitment for Fiat 850, a Simca model and Alfasud. 4x 98 pcd Inside was the original owners name written to reserve them as they were an aftermarket option. That is why, although not original...

Re: Alfasud SI Ti 1976 Restoration

I had the replacement screen bonded in as mine has the full stainless steel surround. It has a nice top tint to it as the screen isn't full tinted. I toyed with the idea of using later s3 green glass as I have some spare, but decided to keep as much as I could original. I had already lost quite a bi...

The dash came out really well mate. I think our cars are sisters !! Your "before" photos look exactly the same as my dash, it also went in the bin. I decided to use the switch hole and fitted an after market hazard kit and used a later series switch to complete the look on my replacement. I spoke to...

Hi Alfasam,
Car looks great, and that interior...................
Funny, my car was the other way around. Factory painted blue. First owner couldn't wait for a red one so he bought it and had it re sprayed red.
Bet you can't wait till it arrives.
Enjoy.

Thanks sud145,
It made my day. That was her first proper run out. About 220 mile round trip with no issues. Even had a Jag XK220 pull alongside us on the M25 and give us a big grin and thumbs up before hitting hyperspace.

More than twice !!

What year is your 5m ?
That was my first car on an "R" plate, in that colour with blue ribbed vinyl. Fond memories.

Hi Vecchioalfa, Another great thread to follow. Top work, you'll get there. Great detail to your work. Like others have said, I think you should keep the colour. Suds set standards in their day not just in the way they drove but breaking traditions. The 1970's liked colours as well. It will be great...
