Re: 33 suspension set ups

I can get custom springs made locally at reasonable prices - either existing ones modified or new ones made so that looks like where I need to go there.

But you're saying that standard FWD rear shocks will be longer than the originals?

Re: 1.7 8v Ignition timing for skimmed heads

In the meantime, don't put it under load below 3-3.5k. On the track you are looking at keeping the revs between 4k and 7k so you shouldn't have a problem. (4k is where the carbs start dumping extra fuel in so that will be why it comes right there.) You've raised the compression somewhat so you reall...

P4 at track day

Attended the local Fiat Lancia Club's track day with the P4 and a 156 V6. The P4 was awful - think I need all new suspension! But it was awesome fun:

Re: P4 Viscous Coupler

What does the P4 electro magnetic coupler look like? I may be missing this as well. Here's what I have IMG_0077.JPG I'm needing at least one new mount but I was anticipating getting the upgrade offered by Alfa Restorations. I have a friend putting together a parts shipment later in the year so keen ...

Re: 33 suspension set ups

So the summary is? Konis at the front, AVO at the back? Eibach springs Compbrake top mounts powerflex bushings Where do you buy these things? No chance here in NZ but a friend is bringing a shipment of parts from the UK later this year. I have a P4 that's been sitting for 9 years. Had it on the trac...

Re: Big Valve Heads

So what about a 1600 from a 146? I have one of these in my gymkhana car. I've been eying it up as a nice engine for the sud. Switching it over to carbs - 40mm from a 33 perhaps?

Anyone done this? Standard, how much different to a 1500?

Yes, I'm thinking that removing the cat on these cars needs to be done for safety reasons!

How not to mix Alfas and drought.

After a bit of fun around the paddock track, the 156 Sportwagon decided to set the grass on fire. We had it more or less under control by the time the Fire Brigade arrived but were very grateful to them for ensuring it wasn't going to spring to life again! The offending car is hiding in shame in the...

Re: 1984 Gold Cloverleaf Sud Resto

For reattaching the handbrake, I've found unbolting the whole lever mechanism allows you to get the cable connected then with the tensioner completely wound back you can reattach the mechanism to the floor. YMMV.

Yes please! (I tried replying earlier but it must have got lost).

I'm planning on getting the "new improved" brackets and potentially reinforcing the mounting points.

So, what would *you* like for Christmas?

P4 Viscous Coupler

My P4 has had its 4WD system removed from service but all parts except the Viscous Coupler came with the car. If I can get this piece of rockinghorse p** I can get the P4 back to original!

Any one have one sitting doing nothing?

Re: Steering wheel boss - differences

Looks like last night's reply got lost. Note that the Nardi and Momo have slightly different "stud patterns" so don't get a momo boss kit for the Nardi wheel. (I do have one boss kit with both sets of screw holes - fits both Momo and Nardi. Not sure but it might be the OMP brand?) For an opinion on ...

Re: Steering wheel boss - differences

33 and sud/sprint are different, yes.

The sud/sprint have a three bolt attachment whereas the 33 has the more normal spline system.

Your wood wheel will fit the sprint - 3 bolts.

The leather wheel will need a boss kit - difficult to find for the sprint but not as rare as hen's teeth.
