Clutch slave cylinder rod

Well I am still struggling to get the Sud finished and back on the road. It turns out that I had put the clutch release bearing in the wrong way round! Derr! The car now crunches when putting it in to first and reverse. It starts ok if I start it in first and reverse and moves off fine. I am ...

Re: My S1 Sud Ti

Wow Kev! What a fantastic job and a fantastic car! S1 TI's are always my favourite. My first one had a Webasto sunroof and I loved it. I don't remember it leaking. I drove through France in it with the roof wide open and the back windows open - it was fantastic. Brown as a berry when I got there! Ca...

Re: Sud won't start or stop

Thanks Lauren I have charged the battery and it is now ok. I replaced both front calipers but cant even bleed them using a vacuum kit that I got yesterday. Did manage to get some fluid out of the clutch though but it is still weird. It is as though the pedal only goes half way down. I connected an e...

Sud won't start or stop

Well I've nearly got the Sud completely back together other than 2 little problems: - :(

1. It won't start.

2. It won't stop

Starter motor just clicks.

Can't get the brakes to bleed at all.

Any ideas anybody?

Re: Sud for sale at H & H auctions 26th Feb

That was a good price then as the Buyers Premium is 12% + vat = £3500 + £504 =£4004.

£4004 will be shown as the selling price on their website and in the classic car magazines.
:)
Especially, as it had no brakes so probably needed new front calipers.

Gear selector oil seal size

Does anybody know the exact size of the gearbox selector oil seal on a Sud gearbox?

Without taking it out it looks like about OD 25mm, ID 15mm (dont know depth).

Got the engine & Gearbox out of the Sud

Well, I finally get time to make a post. The Sud MOT was coming up and knew that I was getting some fluid of some sort on the front brakes. It is now 7 years since I got the Sud on the road and hence 7 years since I restored the front calipers. Also, the gearbox and engine seemed to be getting minor...
