Re: Quick question re oil pressure

I bought a brand new sender from Australia and it made no difference so I plumbed in a capillary one for a while to check against the electronic one.

I took readings at each 1000 revs from 1000 to 6000 and they were all to spec so I took it off and have stopped worrying about it.

Re: The Sud is having a paint refresh

As I said Colin when I spoke to you at MitCar I couldn't believe what a difference the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tyres made compared to the Pirelli P6000's. I think from memory the Goodyear's are class A wet grip and P6000's are E Last time I looked they were still a good price on the Half...

The Sud is having a paint refresh

After having the Sud back on the road for over 10 years now it has been back in the body shop for the last 3 weeks having some of its blemishes and rust spots rectified. Dave at ABR in Bramhall who resprayed it for me 10 years ago is doing it and he even has enough of the paint left he used 10 years...

Re: Ignition timing with unleaded

I also read that 3 degrees retard was recommended for running on unleaded. But this will make the engine run less efficiently and therefore you will lose power. Unless you are commuting daily, why not keep the ignition timing stock and use super unleaded? I run mine on Super Unleaded. sually Tesco ...

I have just referred to the Alfa technical bulletin that someone posted on the web years ago and it says retard by 3 degrees.

If anyone wants a copy please email me at dave@armst.co.uk and I will email it back

Re: Sud front wheel bearings, how to change

Thanks for that Kev.

It shows the importance of having a press.

I looked at the task when mine needed replacing and put it into the too hard to do category so I took the hub off and took it to Ferdi's and left it with him.

I nipped into Blackpool and when I got back it was done. :D

I have taken photos of the top mountings on the C pillar.

The lower mounts obviously just screw into the mounting points under seat.

Is it not a case that the wheels were painted or supplied with the colour that the supplier that the factory was NOT on stop with or was not on strike at the time? We all know that Suds can be very different depending on who supplied the components to make one. I.e. Ducellier MagnettI, Bosch. Weber,...

Marco is very helpful.

My Green Cloverleaf was built 24th January 1983 and was registered 2nd August 1983.

I always thought that was a long time for what was a relatively new model and so shouldn't have been stuck in a field.
