Re: My New AlfaSud 1.5 QV

Hello there, I'm in the process of bringing my Sud back to life so it's good to see you're at doing the same thing. I was just wondering where your front panel went? The front brakes seem to be seized on mine, hoping the calipers respond to servicing. How are yours?

Thanks, I did some more today..mainly fixing trim back and putting the passenger seat and made a start on reconnecting the lights...need a day for that task.

Gave her a quick wash, couldn't resist! See pic...the Sprints not mine. Note brick on rear wheel..brakes not working!

Re: Bought an Alfasud today....

Well I spent another day on the Sud, fitted the wings and one side of lights. It now looks more like a Sud then something out of Mad Max! I could resist no longer..hooked the Bosch up and cranked the engine..it sounded a bit wrong to begin with and the fuel didn't seem to arrive. I think it was a ma...

Re: Bought an Alfasud today....

Nice looking Sud - Any news re the first fire up? Thanks, well I finished the minor welding yesterday and started aligning the wings so they could be bolted on. I'm hoping to start on firing her up today. I can see that a set of ht leads will have to go in the shopping list as they look old and unr...

Save an Alfa....146 Ti

There's an Alfa 146 Ti that has just been taken in part ex at a garage and after being checked for an MOT it has been found that it needs welding and so is heading for the scrap yard but it's far too good for that. I wondered if anyone on this forum would be interested? It's a V-reg, in metallic blu...

Re: Bought an Alfasud today....

Thanks Greencloverleaf Pat, I'll definitely try and fire her up tomorrow. The fuel tank is like new and the fuel lines seem ok so I put some petrol in. I've turned the engine by hand so it's not seized...so far so good...

Haha, the missus throwing Practical Classics, I hope it doesn't come to that...she SEEMS quite understanding at the moment... Believe it or not I didn't get around to even fitting the battery as I decided to attack the grim job and do the welding. On the offside I had to take the strut out to get to...

Re: Bought an Alfasud today....

Thanks, yes the wings came off for some minor repairs which were actually completed on one side but there's a really awkward spot on the other side where the sill, jacking point and pillar meet...I don't really want to take the door off since it fits so well for once! Once I get it running I'll get ...

Bought an Alfasud today....

Started a new project today, an Alfasud Green Cloverleaf which has been stored since 2008. My first car once I passed my test was an Alfa 33 1.3s and it was great but I always wanted a Sud Green Cloverleaf so a few years later I tried to find one but it really was almost impossible. When I say impos...

Re: Getting the 33 back on the road.

Hi Lee, Is your 33 fuel injected? I don't think it's a bad idea to get some oil circulating around the engine before you fire her up. You could disconnect the ignition module (under the ignition coil) and then crank the engine until the oil light goes out on the dashboard. Then reconnect the ignitio...

I'm in the process of buying an Alfasud 1.5ti Green Cloverleaf. I know that both the outer headlights are shot and since it will need an MOT I thought I better get looking for some replacements, can anyone help?

Re: Sud for sale at H & H auctions 26th Feb

I would say he is a lucky chap to get this car as it looks really striking, nice interior and isn't too far off being ready for the road. It was previously registered in this country as an 'A' Reg and would be free to re-register. Someone can look forward to a saturday morning grappling with those c...

Re: Sud for sale at H & H auctions 26th Feb

Hello! I went to the H&H auction today at Buxton Pavillion and it was packed with people. The Red Alfasud Ti Green Cloverleaf sold for £3500. It looked good and the paintwork was of a good quality. It was previously silver. I was close to bidding on this car but one last check under the bonnet revea...
