Re: Alfasud 1.5 GCL Engine for sale

Hello its_welshy, potentially for interested people it might be convenient to understand what you mean with "GCL". It can be a Gold Clover Leaf (95 BHP) or a Green Clover Leaf (105 BHP) engine. Both vehicles/engines can be covered by the "GCL" abbreviation.

Re: Difference between Sud front seat frames series 1, 2 & 3

Thank Pat for that info, I assumed it was a 100% carry over lay-out but apparently not. When I owned a white series 2 sud ti I put the recaro seats from a 16v 33 in the front but the bolt pattern on the floor on the series 2 sud was narrower than the 33 so had to make brackets up. My brother put the...

Re: Sprint door mirrors v tall people

This is potentially a silly and meaningless suggestion, but couldn't you try with "clip on" mirrors which are used by people towing a caravan?

Your son has a great car to start his car life with, but be aware that once he'll be infected with the Sud virus there's no cure!!!!

Re: Difference between Sud front seat frames series 1, 2 & 3

Thanks for the effort Kev. As expected some differences between these series. During the restoration process you run into discoveries a lot. The differences between the series are very many. Some differences only in detail and other more obvious ones. Great to have these helpful members around to gu...

Re: Difference between Sud front seat frames series 1, 2 & 3

Cheers Kev, that would be great, I'm only looking for potential differences on the front seats, potentially my explanation was poor due to fact that I'm not a native speaker, sorry for that. The back rest of the front seats can be tilted/folded forwards to allow entry of the rear passengers. The lev...

Re: Difference between Sud front seat frames series 1, 2 & 3

Hi Kev, thanks for the reply. If you have series 1 TI seats and series 3 TI seats that would be perfect to compare. What I mean regarding the differences are visible differences on the outside. The frame itself is pretty much the same I assume and anyway not visible. The mounting of all Alfasud's fo...

Difference between Sud front seat frames series 1, 2 & 3?

With so many Sud experienced people on this board I hope to be able to get an answer to my question whether there are differences between the front seat frames for 1st & 2nd series Suds and 3rd series Suds. There are many differences in the interior parts between the 1st & 2nd series compared to the...

Re: How Much??

These breather couplings are pretty rare these days, although the price is a bit steep they're very hard to find and as "keyjtd" stated embrittlement is a big issue with these parts.

A bit off topic, the other parts this seller is offering are pretty fair in pricing, aren't they?

Re: GIARDINETTA WEBSITE & INFO

Shrew, thanks for the post and the sub-forum. This is an ideal opportunity to potentially get into contact with some people knowing the whereabouts (or previous) whereabouts of the 8 South African made Giardinetta's (RHD) which were imported into the UK by a UK Alfa dealer. I once red somewhere that...

Re: Another OZ Ti arrives in the UK

The steering wheel item is indeed an odd thing, it's a Berline (or Giardinetta) steering wheel and not a TI one, but if that's it you can count your blessings and that's what it looks like.

Re: Dutch Sud Giardinetta restoration

With regards to the UK Giardinetta discussed in this thread it's VIN 8G00619 (register number #023). The car was offered for sale in 2010. As far as I am informed it was bought by Peter from Alfasud parts to serve as parts donor.

Re: Dutch Sud Giardinetta restoration

The Giardinetta was converted into a RHD version for the South African market in the Alfa Romeo factory in Brits South Africa in 1982. Non sold vehicles and parts from Europe were shipped to South Africa as knock down kits. Some local content was added for tax reasons but for the rest it was merely ...

Re: sud estate

This car was sold and is in the Giardinetta Register under number #044. The car is visually very nice, the current owner who purchased the car is bringing it technically up to a splendid level. This is the only Giardinetta in the USA since they were officially never sold there.

Re: Series 2 rear valence panel

This German supplier has quality stuff and they do have the first series (with exhaust cut-out) and second series (without exhaust cut-out) on stock. Also their delivery was swift and of excellent quality. As you pointed out most probably not the cheapest solution but definitely a good quality solut...

Re: Another OZ Ti arrives in the UK

Truly a beauty!!! You must be a very satisfied guy at this point in time. Enjoy this time warp car. The amount of S1 TI's in the UK is, although relatively low, I think a number many European countries envy. The dedication shown to perfectly restore them as well as some of the members of this forum ...

Re: 1500ti restoration. Ex racer

Congrats on this excellent purchase. What is your intent with this car? Keep it more or less as a less extreme racer or restore it to factory original spec.? Pretty amazing to see several S1 TI's have survived in the not so friendly climate in the UK. P.S. would you by any chance be able to post a p...
