The silver resto sprint on eBay is on the above for £8500
I’m sure the gtv6 would cost at least that to restore and build at Alex jupe but still a bit eye watering.

Went for £1865, if as solid as it looked then cheap I’d say. Make a good racer.
Glad Kev did mine in white tho and not orange, even tho I sold it

Re: Giulietta 1.4 turbo starting issue
Definitely battery, should have known really but the wired attempts to start it were confusing. Tried the extra earth just in case, still slow to turn over Put my little Halfords smart charger on this morning, within 5 hours it said it was charged so took it off and started fine. Can’t enable the st...

Re: Giulietta 1.4 turbo starting issue
I have the stop start permenantly switched off. Short / town journeys and that many restarts can’t be healthy for an engine. I switched it off the day we bought it :D Good shout on the earth test, I forgot to try that . It’s a 13 plate but the battery doesn’t have any Alfa or manufacturers marks, I ...

Re: Giulietta 1.4 turbo starting issue
Agree, the manual isn’t overly clear. Fingers crossed, and tbh the battery has been on as long as we’ve had the car, it’s not original but is at least 6 years old so I’m tempted to replace it anyhow. It does short journeys so probably finished it off based on that and the first frost .

Re: Giulietta 1.4 turbo starting issue
Pretty sure it’s the battery after trying it this morning. Slow turn over. Assume if it’s the earth then it wouldnt turn at all, or would turn but not start ? Dumb question - any issue jump starting with the start stop system, or do I go straight on the battery terminals as normal ? Hate to say it b...

Giulietta 1.4 turbo starting issue
Hello, anyone here…… :D Strange one this morning, Giulietta wouldn’t start and a bit unusual symptoms. Initially assumed battery had dropped voltage and on its way out on the first cold morning this year but not so sure… 1. Initially when putting key in and turning ignition on, all dash lights as no...

Re: Another one creeps out of the shed
Well, yes based on recent sales :D If this car was as solid as it looked then all it really needed was a repaint, new extinguisher and harnesses to go racing…….plus a good check over obviously It was a production spec car when last raced, so fairly standard engine with probably 10 extra Bhp, maybe 1...

Re: Sudden oil pressure disappearance
That oil will be more than fine, oil is oil……so long as it is high quality in the first place which most top brands are. Think I’ve posted on here before that a mate worked for silkolene and castrol and he was adamant that so long as it was a top brand, hence refined well, Ester based, then other th...

Re: 1500ti restoration. Ex racer
Well, my all steel and glass sud racer with a boot weighed in at 825kg on Mallory Parks scales, my sprint with Perspex and aluminium boot floor weighs a very ‘trim’ 775kg on Cadwell parks scales. My race wheels are very light tho and probably help by at least a kg each, 33 rear axle is probably 5kg ...

If I remember rightly your sud has fibreglass bonnet, boot and wings, and Perspex windows ?
If so 800kg is about right.

Thanks

The red one is a Fiat 128 coupe
Viva is a Magnum, poverty spec viva didn’t have the chrome trim across the back ?
The rear end round lights are Datsun of some form (308 gt4 has rectangle lenses)
Edit, Keith is right, I’m wrong it is a 308 gt4

I regretted selling the sud racer shell that Kev did such a great job with, but needs must. To console myself I’ve just bought these two racers to replace it, I’ll need a dose of the incredible shrinking man serum to fit in them. D43CB5FD-909D-4E38-A153-4C9DCD9C39A3.jpeg Some where in the loft...

Re: All thanks to our Kev
No Gary, ‘our’ old sud is actually on the road via Daves efforts (alfadave). This is series 3 racer shell I bought with the aim / dream of building a stripped out road car, but time and storage and a blown engine in my sprint meant I needed to sell it. Kev welded an sprayed it, we made it look like ...
