Re: Another one coming back from dormancy

.........try Eurosport in Diss for spares. Good tip, thank you and just bought a couple of oil filters. No oil pressure from the engine as we spin it on the floor so a bit worried. As for the handling I am lucky that Eric Weaver is helping me again and his son at Weaver Motorsport may get as...

Re: Another one coming back from dormancy

I had an S reg Montecarlo spider a bit back. Originally had servo on front only (!!) which previous owner had removed. So the un assisted brakes were poor. All round assistance needed I think. Small twin choke carb from X1/9 , strangled the performance. Twin carbs probably a good upgrade. I rebushe...

Oh yes !! I like that. My friend had a 105, and that was fun.
I don't think there will be any objections if you put up a few photos of the Monte :D
Funny that Kev thought the same.

A chap called gary who lived in Ludlow and did it years ago and then restarted at Eric Weavers prompting. I have seen 3 Ford escorts he has done now and the standard is impressive. That's why my Gitane cycle got sneaked in !

Yep , that hurts, I have a top notch alloy framed cycle that developed a crack. Fortunately it has a life time guarantee, unfortunate its Dutch (Koga) and so free frame cost me 150 notes in duty  .

This car between the clocks has a warning light with what looks like a brake pedal on it. Is it for low brake fluid ?

Yep, i looked at a 105 at Ian Ellis's workshops near Brighton.

I asked how much the restoration would cost and was staggered at how much a small car could consume and he was busy as Classic Alfa seem to be more expensive.

I was very out of touch.

Yes it looks very good and is being very carefully put together.

I cheekily left a blasted steel Gitane cycle frame with the same painter in case he had a bit of pint left over from a job. :D

This is the car I have been assisting with by making comments and drinking tea.

The paintwork is superb and very well prepared so should last exceedingly well. The aim is for it to be original and perfect and I think they will succeed.

Have you looked into a solar iboost for your hot water ? Fitted and one recently and has worked very well. Since found out you may be able to buy a second hand panel then connect it directly to a hot water tank with a 24v immersion heater. No inverter needed, which saves a lot. The other thing i wou...

Bonnet boot and perspex windows, but not wings. Engine has settled down very well had to knock back the tick over a bit and that is all. Sta...

Re: 1500ti restoration. Ex racer

Due to the petrol fiasco I have had to run around in the Sud for a few days as it was the only car with fuel in it, the local garage is being refurbished, and so its a 20 min run to the next one. I had to go that way so tried, but it was shut so a bit annoyed then realised there was a friendly scrap...
