Re: 1800 8v with Nissan pistons.

Hi. Did not realise they had a larger pump. Do you know yet exactly what your going to bore the block out too ? Would be very interested in your decision. I am having a 8v done but rather concerned at boring out too much and cracking the block under use. I believe it was often a problem in the day a...

Looks like it is based on a Moto Guzzi Le Mans from the 80's. I wonder how he sorted the final drive out?

Re: 1800 8v with Nissan pistons.

Hi Bert 308. Your info and pictures have been most helpful as struggling to make decisions with my engine. The original advert is sold out but E bay no's 151171854584 and 191156654195 are very similar and a good price. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151171854584?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=ST...

Hi All looks great.

What did you find the best way was to get the foam out of the cavities in the car. I seem to be faffing a lot with out great results.

Thought this might interest people. I removed the top of the front shock mount today. http://i.imgur.com/TBdXwUB.jpg?1 To discover this. It all looks rather crude but has been very well thought out and executed. http://i.imgur.com/KxfNUEH.jpg?1 Not too much rust in the front end so quite pleased.

Wow, the engine bay looks like you could eat your dinner off it. Looks great.

Who did your exhaust as that looks a very good job as well ?

Good luck with it all.

Re: The Puzzle Post!

Ha. That footage made me smile. Excellent. Reminded me of a friend who was late to meet me one evening and when he arrived he was still shaking as his friend had asked him to help while they ran up a home made model of a jet engine in his garage. He said it was terrifying being next to an untested e...

Re: 1500ti restoration. Ex racer

Hi , Yes the big problem is the size of the bore it is so much bigger than Sud, 33 , 75 sizes so I cannot think what else would run such big brakes

unless it was racing spec to accommodate the big callipers.

Re: 1500ti restoration. Ex racer

Wow a factory bent axle ! Why would they not just make the axle up and add spacers to give the desired as I have seen done with washers. That is interesting indeed. Thanks chaps. I do not mind you using my pictures in the least. And yes it is going back on either way. To answer questions. Yes I can ...

Blimey that looks excellent. As you say , how did it cope so well with the Australian climate ?

Found any spiders in there? Funnel web is the nasty one in Sydney I think. Still this weather will sort that out.

Good luck and hope you do not find any nasty surprises.

Re: 1500ti restoration. Ex racer

Yes. To get at the calipers the disc had to come off and they fastened on with allen headed bolts. These were screwed through the discs then had nuts on the back that were welded to the disc, so fun and games grinding them off. After all that the Lockheed callipers had to go away with the gearbox to...

Re: 1500ti restoration.

Okay. Thanks for that. That all seems very clever, but it would end up looking very different to what would have been there in the 80's

which is why I was interested in the 123 ignition units. They do look the part more unless there is a way of disguising the NoDiz system.

Hi Shrew. Thanks for that. It would seem that I need a much larger one to make the front 4 pot callipers work well. The master cylinder I have taken off is 29mm bore and could be rebuilt, but I cannot get hold of seals when I cannot identify it. My only other thought is to find an Alfa one that is t...

Re: Various Series 3 Sud Parts for Sale

Hi Tim

Many thanks. Just found some excellent measurements on the forum of the Sud, 33 etc brake cylinder bore which I thought would be very handy as it meant I could identify mine.

No, it just meant I now know mine is none of them. Looks like I shall just buy anyone of them and start again. :D

Hi Oliver

I could do with a brake master cylinder please. It is for a 1978 1500ti and I am not worried about if it is the right year, but is it servo assisted, ta.
