Re: 1984 Alfasud Gold Cloverleaf Shock absorbers/dampers
OK quick update. I had forgotten to refit the brass cup washer below the top mnount and the retaining washer at the bottom of the strut. I got help from a retired but very well known and loved Alfa mechanic here in ROI. It's driving like a dream now!

Took the spring pans of the struts that I had on the car, they have a narrower centre and should stop the insert sliding up. Got to fit the new gaiters I bought too. Hope to refit tonight or tomorrow night and then book NCT (MOT equivalent)

Re: 1984 Alfasud Gold Cloverleaf Shock absorbers/dampers
Your car is sitting really nice now. How does it feel on the road. I tried some on mine once and it was too low for me and was too hard on the road. I sold them to a guy who fitted them to his 33. Often wondered about the Sudshop ones. It feels nice and tight (the old lowering springs had become ve...

Holy thread resurrection Batman! So 3 and a half years ago I bought these (and the rears): https://shop.alfisti.net/Tuning-Styling/Classic-Alfas/Alfasud/Suspensions/Alfasud-Sprint-Shock-Absorber-Insert-Front-Axle::9797.html About a year ago I bought 4 lowering springs from Sudshop. Shrew/petrolhead I hear you re the XR3 wheels - always reminded me of what you would poach eggs in!
I do like the teledial alloy though.
I did fit 17 inch multispokes from a GT onto my 156SW

Very wise choice re engine IMO Chris. My lock up is beyond where I can legally travel to during the higher levels of lockdown here in the Republic of Ireland. As an advertising sales man, income is down too so in fairness the car/hobby fund was hit a little but not lots. I've fettled a few of my fle...

Re: compbrake top strut mounts
I've a road going 1984 Sud Gold Cloverleaf that is lowered and has too much negative camber up front.
Any reasonably priced solution for top mounts?
Or has anyone created adjustable camber at the bottom of the strut?

Re: Cut out on brake pads
Hands up who last worked on a twin leading shoe brake system? Laverda 750 GTL. Best of all I worked on one years ago as the brakes were poor. Took it to Ferodo competition shop and they said the original material was HGV stuff, so they matched the materials up with new and the first time I used the...
