Hi Lou,
Drop me a PM or text as I have a friend who has two Alfa based Novamotors and has recently had them rebuilt - one after an over rev and another after a holed piston - common occurrence in restricted F3 motors.
Hope all's well?

Re: 1974 Alfasud Trofeo
I might see if I can join a HRDC race next year. Yes, you should Tim. I couldn't get to all this year due to my FF commitments but the atmosphere in the paddock and the racing is brilliant. The cars are gorgeous throughout the grid, beautifully prepared and driven by enthusiasts. You'll do really w...

Flywheel bhp but taken from rolling road session and corrected. I think 100BHP per litre is nothing unusual and I should guess that my 8 valve 1800 engine is putting out 170-180 bhp.

No, it's still 1286cc 8 valve. Exactly to the spec that the car was built to all those years ago. Approx 120bhp at 8500rpm.rsfruitbat wrote:Very impressive.

Re: 1974 Alfasud Trofeo
All, Castle Combe Classic was a superb event and the Alfa Challenge race was brilliant fun. It was great to not only have Simon come down to watch, support and video what was going on but also knowing that Nicolino Moffa and Franco Marinierra were 'watching' in Campobasso, Italy. So, all 4 owners of...

Alfa 33 Front Struts
Hi All, Does anyone have a pair of front struts for an Alfa 33 please. Really just need the basic tubes, not worried if springs/pans/pan bearings/shocks are knackered as they'll be going to Leda to have some of their racing inserts and adjustable spring pans fitted. Let me know what's available plea...

It's over a year since anything has been posted about the Trofeo so I thought I'd give an update on where things are. A lot of you already know (and have been involved) but for those that haven't....... I bought the car from Simon late last year and asked Tom to start a re-build/refresh so that it w...

Hi Junior, Being the anorak that I am I have copies of the AROC club magazine from the 1970's and early 1980's and there's quite a few mentions of what is now your car when it was owned and raced by Peter Kitchen and Peter Veryard. I have also stumbled across a photo of it racing at Silverstone in 1...

Thanks Bryan, I was, of course referring to the man who has prepared my car over the years - countless starts, countless laps at 8000 RPM and never so much as a miss fire in nearly 30 years.

The old club circuit at Silverstone with you all heading into Backetts. You can see the pit lane entry lines for when the GP was being used. Date? 1988? Red Sud with slightly flaired arches in the fore ground is Jonathon Frankel who was running in production modified and I think the black Sud on the...

Nualfaman, your photos are definitely Cadwell and taken in March 1990 as I remember it was the first race of the year and was on the short circuit using a hairpin at the bottom of the mountain. It was my first race in my green racing Sud after it had been re-prepared by Tom at BLS. Happy days! Cheer...

Alfatwo/Dave, That was outside Alfetta Racing Centre wasn't it - based around Hammersmith/Chiswick, West London. I remember Piero Pesaro inviting me down there for a look around in probably 1987 when Rob Giordienelli raced the Zagato and Piero raced the GTV6. Piero took over the Zagato for 1990 and ...

Hi All, Yes, my car was originally green and then was painted yellow when Dave Thomas raced it (much to my annoyance! ). When I got it back it had to be restored back to its proper colour - Verde Aqua. Steve Dymoke did destroy the ex Peter Cate/Dave Munro/Dave Litchfield car in a Hillclimb a...

Re: 75 3 litre parts please
Doing quite well so far, got sump and bell housing but still need a prop. Suspension: RSR in Germany do some up graded parts for the rear and the castor control rods at the front so they'll do and for the upper arms and other bits it appears that Chris Snowden does a kit that replicates the SZ. Prob...

Re: Road trip to Italy anyone.
Could be up for this one. I'd probably go Dover Calais and catch up on the way. I was thinking that I'd take the Sprint Veloce or, if it's ready (and why not?!) the 75 24 valve. What would people want to do - blast down and spend time there or take time to get there and not do too much each day? Tim...

Hi All, Update: Looks like I have a sump so that's ticked off so still need prop and bell housing . I have a big brake kit - 4 pot calipers front and rear and vented disks so should be good there. Even got some Ferrari 5 spoke 16 inch rims to fit over them! Chris Snowden does a suspension kit that i...

Just starting in earnest on my project 75 Twin Spark conversion to 3 litre 24 valve. Have received engine and ancilliaries but need the following if anyone can help: 75 3 Litre Prop Shaft complete. RWD V6 Sump (GTV6 or 75 will suit) Prepared to travel. And I know this is a total long shot but if any...

Veesix75, I'm going the same route as you: Standard interior and looking standard 75 TS exterior with only wheels as the give away to what is underneath. In fairness, the M3 were the last of the straight six ones (2012?) not the V8s which are substantially faster in a straight line. The LSD was stan...

Just stumbled across this thread which is interesting as I spent last Saturday at Bedford Autodrome with an Alfa 75 fitted with a 3.2 litre 24 valve GTA engine. This is a professional conversion with a Twin Spark gearbox and LSD which is perfectly suited for fast road and track work as you'd expect ...

Yes, as some of you already know I have agreed to buy the Trofeo from Simon. Why buy another racing Sud when I already have one? The answer is simple: It is, as you all know, gorgeous and also more eligible for some championships which the green car just isn't eligible for. I want to race a saloon c...
