Boxer engine distributors

So had a chance to get some bits out of the shed to clear out, I found a load of distributors, definitely from alfas, but I don't know if they are boxer engine ones or twin cam / nord engine.
Would anyone know the bosch part numbers so I can see what I've got to sort out sale / swaps :)
Cheers

Re: Motor Mystery...

I'm sure there is some way to calculate compression pressures against current draw, once all the variables are taken into account ,, but its not done like that in service / workshops.. The idea behind the amp clamp method is the achieve a quick relative compression test. So, image customer brings ca...

Re: Motor Mystery...

Compression ratio is swept volume against clearance volume isn't it? I've never thought of it as 15 psi atmospheric/ 150 psi compression means we have 10:1. Does it work like that? For a cheeky quick way of doing it, an it's actually how alfa/fiat did it as early as the 90's with the examiner, you p...

Re: Shiney Donald trumpets

Hi Veesix. I got a bargin with them from eBay, Im pretty sure they are the ones classic Alfa and others do for around £250. They are not the Sprintfilter branded ones, back plate is different shape and no filter for the carb breather hole. The mesh is built in / crimped around the trumpet mouth, the...

That's it! Jane Cheffings! I think the car actually had rich bitch in the window as her name lol I did two stints working there ( mad I know ) The cars were platinum technology, green and black for a while. I was there when mark ticehurst drove a 33, he went on to do the vauxhall vectra challenge. B...

Shiney Donald trumpets

I got a great deal on these trumpets the other week, i had been toying with the idea of these for a while.. The standard air box unbolts easily enough, then once the new base plate is on, the trumpets go on with the retaining rings. It's a bit of a game lining the trumpet up over the carb mouth, if ...

Getting on with it..

Im making a push this summer to get my sud finished and on the road, or at least driving and stopping under its own power! I have owned the car since 2000, I bought it for £250 quid, the previous owner had been told the alternator needed replacing and decided to off load it as spares or repairs.. On...
