Re: Alfasud Campari
Hi Micheal Interesting photos. Just a bit of back story to The Campari link (although I’m surprised the colour schemes don’t seem to relate?). It was probably due to the fact that when the Alfa Romeo dealer team started to race the sud. The main title sponsor was indeed Campari. (It’s an Italian liq...

Hi Keith. No not on this occasion. We’re touring round and didn’t want the hassle of towing. We may end up in Italy at certain museum. I was last there over 45yrs ago.

Re: National Alfa Day 2025
Hi Ade. I’ve got a Facet red top that i ran as my low pressure pump on the inj 16v. I located it near the rear suspension arms and never had a problem it occasionally pumped air under hard cornering mainly towards the end of a race as my fuel level would be getting low but it never packed up. The sm...

Everything’s possible Dave but you may struggle refitting the roof unless you remove the roll cage it would be ideal for some one who has a rusty AF std car but it would be a lot of work.

Chris. That is certainly unusual. I have seen similar problems in the past but it’s rare. Is there a chance it could be coming from the inlet manifold gasket area ? Also the ally washer on your sender unit looks a bit ropey

Re: Rust
Personally I’d say the top rails are most certainly structural as Keith said they tie the strut tops to the top of the bulkhead and inner wing. The repairs are relatively simple if you just want structural integrity however cosmetic authenticity that’s when it can become a much more involved and tim...

Another pic of Dave’s problem. attachment=0]IMG_5650.jpeg[/attachment] IMG_5651.jpeg As I suspected the rot has spread across the entire service bay. Re: Rust
Hi Dave. For most of the repairs you can probably use something like, 18s gauge. This is 1.2mm obviously different parts of the car are pressed from differing gauges of steel so try to use similar thicknesses where appropriate. TBH given the current state of corrosion you could probably use sheets o...

Re: Rust
Me again Dave. As Keith Mentioned I’d also start by removing both front wings and then stripping everything from the service bay. Including the heater and as much of the wiring loom as possible. You may also want to remove the front struts. This will allow you to do a full and extensive survey of al...

Re: Rust
Sad to see this Dave. That’s quite a serious rust problem. Being so near the suspension area I know the car is MOT exempt but to be honest I wouldn’t use it. If you did have an accident the rozzers could throw the book at you.
