Re: Whose Cherry Europe is this?

So would all 3 be yours then Ed, finished and done? :o No, I'll get my Europe GTi and hopefully the 5 door 1.2 SL there. The 5 door needs some welding and a bit of fettling as it's been layed up for so long butit does at least work. I doubt it'll be pretty though! The other car attending should be ...

Is it any involvement from Peter, Alfasudparts?
No, I've only ever spoken to him once and that was a few years ago. I've no idea if he has a roadworthy one.

Wow, that's a fantastic lineup there. I don't think I've ever seen that many in one place!

Re: Whose Cherry Europe is this?

The 5 door versions are pretty plain looking but to me the Arna Ti and Cherry Europe GTi look great. Perhaps they should have only marketed the sporty models here like they did in Spain and Austria? I don't think this car would have have half as much criticism if this design had come from Alfa Romeo...

Re: Arna front subframe

Negative camber is most probably just in the stub axle and brake back plates I can't remember what PCD the wheels are I think they are 98 like Alfa so it would make sense for flanges and stub axles to be different from Nissan They are 98mm instead of Nissan's 114.3mm PCD. The part number for the dr...

Re: Arna front subframe

I'am sure they are the same as I worked on a Arna and a cherry Europe some time ago when my sud was my daily driver and we compared all the things shared with a sud and front end was all Alfa but rear axle was all Nissan Front turrets and upper cross member for engine mount and battery was nearly i...

Re: Arna front subframe

Looks very sudlike to me so far :) Also looks retrievable with enough effort It is, but not a simple one as it's the reinforcing inside that's rotted away. I could fabricate new reinforcing pieces but to weld them in I'll have to separate the two external pressings all the way round the seam. I don...

Arna front subframe

Hi folks, I'm currently trying to revive a scruffy, dog-eared Arna 1.2SL which needs plenty of TLC but is generally quite sound. Apart from it's front subframe that is... which was completely rotten. I have one spare which is not all that good either. Does anyone know if this part is the same on a '...

Re: Whose Cherry Europe is this?

Yes, this is my Cherry Europe. The previous owners (Dave Hood and Richard Rees) had it badged as an Arna Ti for the AROC concours and for the NEC in 2011 but I prefer to keep it as it was originally sold. I think this car always had a confused identity, because although it's registered as a Nissan, ...

Re: ARNA on eBay

This used to my car, I really would have liked to restore it but I had garage and house issues to deal with at the time so let it go to a friend who is now selling it. The floor and sills are very good, perhaps it's strongest good point. It's also complete. However, most of the panels are bent or r...

Re: ARNA on eBay

I suspect it used to have the spoiler but the mounting brackets rusted off of the tailgate. It looks to me that the area where the brackets would be has been filled. On the Arna the brackets are welded on either side of the rear window and they are all that holds the spoiler on. The two 'legs' that ...
