Hi, I’m looking for a nice straight rear bumper for my s2. I don’t need the plastic cladding as mine should be ok, however mine has had a knock on one of the corners and as part of the gradual tidying up process I’d like a nicer one is possible. Also a rear screen for a booted 4 door s2 with the pla...
Thank you, yes it was. Serves me right for taking shortcuts. Wasn’t too bad to reset it, all lines up perfectly now and it seems no harm done. Was hoping to check the ignition timing too, but seems my timing light has gone dim and I can’t see the marks in daylight. Annoying as I’ve only used it a co...
The more I look, the more I think it’s a tooth out. Obviously the pulley is a lot bigger than that journal so a whole tooth out at the pulley will be a smaller distance at the cam.
Hello all, A so have a few longer journeys planned for my ‘sud this year, and as I hadn’t changed the belts since buying it 4.5 years ago I thought I would change the timing belts. It went ok, waterpump was rather reluctant to come out, but we got there… Anyway, I was a little lazy when doing it, I ...
Yes mine too, but I expected them to as I haven’t adjusted any wiring, just plugged them into the existing sockets. I had a quick look at the Haynes wiring diagram and looks like there’s an additional relay on Ti models. I need to look at the existing relay setup, I’m sure there’s a work around, but...
That is strange! I don’t have any loom at all, I was going to make a little adapter loom to plug into the standard 4 pin connector on the inner wings. I was hoping it would be a simple relay or wire pin swap. I understand wiring while I’m doing it but never had much luck understanding Haynes diagrams.
Hi, I’m just doing the same on my super. I know, I know, probably spoiling it by going non-original, but I love the twin headlight look. Do you know how the wiring is altered? On the normal lamps switching to high beam turns off the dip beam filament and turns on the high beam. I’m assuming with the...
Yes! By the time I got to see a preview it was too late to change it.
Jonny is a great guy too, a proper car but, not just playing it for the cameras. He actually had an ivory gold cloverleaf like my dads at one point too!
Asked my mum to see if she had any more photos, This green one is what picked me up and took me home from hospital after I was born https://i.imgur.com/aqgYcwV.jpg This black one replaced it and was written off with us all in it after a transit on the wrong side of the road hit the OS wing and wheel...
Nothing much to add, car has been under cover for probably two months now as it’s either been freezing with salty roads, or damp wet and horrible. Was hoping we’d get some dry weather during this recent warm spell but no such luck. However, I was at my mums today and found these photos amongst mine,...
Strange that it’s got a jts badge, they definitely did a jts in the pre facelift but I think it came quite late with the slightly updated dash and colour coded rub strips on the bumpers. My dad had 3 as his last sensible family cars before we all moved out. Always thought the looked great and drove ...
The way it got there quickly then sat for several days without increasing, and has now been relisted due to a ‘non paying bidder’ makes me think some shill bidding was going on.
It’s incredibly annoying, and making it the lead headline news story didn’t help. As soon as I saw it I told the other half it would mean massive queues and petrol stations running out. Due to an issue with her car I was commuting in the ‘sud. No problem getting on a pump and filling up at 5am on th...
Coincidently, I was at the Jonny smith / sniff petrol, late brake show on tour in my sud a couple of weeks back and Sarah the office lady at Matthewsons came over and spoke to me about mine while her friend took some photos
My integrale cracked one of the hard plastic lines near where it met the rubber section down under the unlit manifold, was a little bit smelly! That was about 12 years ago. I replaced the whole thing with some copper pipe I had laying around and had no issues, it did run inside the car though. I’d h...
Ok, thank you, I will try that first. I didn’t know if there was a rubber liner inside the hose which could collapse like old brake flex is have been know to.
I was actually wondering how the original hose is constructed? It feels like a solid plastic pipe but I’m assuming there’s a normal hose inside? What do people do to replace it? A normal braided flexi made to the right length? I think I will get a slave in stock anyway as has been said above they’re...
Back in the spring I changed my clutch because the old one started slipping, not all the time, and worse when hot. I had assumed it was contamination because it didn’t behave like a normal worn clutch failure where the revs just keep rising, it was acting more like a cvt transmission where the revs ...
I suspect it’s more of an unexpected demand for super from people unsure about or unable to use e10 rather than any particular rationing or shortage of supply. No issues filling up over the past couple of weeks at the local Tesco’s for their momentum99 which I’ve been using in all our cars except th...
Yep, I went back and had a look. Hard to tell from the original auction which cars were which, seeing as they haven’t even bothered swapping the broken light cover over I don’t know that they’ve done any repairs at all other than maybe swap a few parts from the donor, give it a polish and take some ...
