Re: New Sprint owner but definitely not new to Alfas!
Hi everyone, how has your year gone overall? Slightly challenging like mine? :D Most of the spa re time I would previously have devoted to car tinkering has gone into keeping my business afloat and the family occupied. Looking forward to a better year ahead. Quick update on my Sprint: I have decided...

Re: Has "alfasud-parts.co.uk" closed down?
Hmmm. Nice enough guy but hellish for comms. If it is just service items, just go on to Autodoc and save a fortune. Ok you will need to wait 7-10 days for delivery but if that is not an issue then at least you are quids in.... Thanks for the intel - I have used Autodoc extensively before and found ...

Re: New Sprint owner but definitely not new to Alfas!
This Italian - built "Panther" lift is similar but bigger and more unwieldy.

We tried a Panther first but this one is better, more solid and has a smaller footprint. It's old and scruffy but works brilliantly!

Has "alfasud-parts.co.uk" closed down?
Hi folks, just wondering if anyone has any intel about Alfasud-parts.co.uk?
I ordered some service items from them 3.5 weeks ago and haven't received anything, nor have they replied to my 2 emails and 1 telephone message. I'm starting to wonder if they are no longer trading?

I'm starting to think that is the path I will take, rather than forced induction. Just started looking for some Weber 40'sLooLooSud33Spider wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 10:06 pmThat is exactly why I’m building a 1500 for my Ti. It will Also have fast road cams and 40mm carbs As well as some head work

Re: New Sprint owner but definitely not new to Alfas!
If I might ask, what are you using to lift your car in those pictures? Looks interesting! :) Oh, and welcome BTW :D I wish I knew! It's basically a portable electro-hydraulic lift, with a piston the size of Geoff Capes' leg and built like a Soviet era tank. Its on wheels and can be pushed aro...

Yes, the pedals are VERY close together! Ideal if you have hooves like a goat but not so great for "normal" sized Human shoes!

Really? I didn't realise you could use diesel for derusting. I'm hoping that replacing the armature with stainless will avoid having to worry about it ever again.

Sprint Rear window mechanism repair section. Anyone need one?
Hi all you Sprint owners - does anyone have the need for a repair fix for their rear window winder mech which is invariably rusted to death, making the window inoperable? Me too and my friend Gary Fisher of Totallyalfa.com is currently making me some repair sections (the toothed hinged part - see pi...

Re: New Sprint owner but definitely not new to Alfas!
Stick a bit of wood in to hold the filter down.......did I leave a bit in there? I always thought the attraction of driving a Sud was not massive power, but was keeping the revs up. Maximum power at approx 6000 rpm. Torque......there isn't any! Agree with all that - love the sound a Sud makes when ...

Re: New Sprint owner but definitely not new to Alfas!
There’s 2 types of filter assembly one has a plate attached to the top lid that holds the filter in place the other has a separate panel that Sits on top of the filter and is held with 4 clips It looks like your lid is the Latter. So you should have a separate bit. I may have one but need to look t...

Thanks Lou - that's what I was thinking - it didn't seem right to have nothing stopping the panel from jumping up and down!
The inside of my lid is empty - just concave. Thanks in advance if you can find me one - I'll pay for it of course.

Thanks - will do. My mate Gary Fisher of TotallyAlfa.com is making some replacement stainless tank straps for my 156 and GTV ones too. Re: New Sprint owner but definitely not new to Alfas!
Quick question for anyone who may have the answer: On removing the air filter housing cover, my (dirty) filter panel was just sitting inside, with no apparent means of keeping it in place. Is this right, or should the filter element have some sort of clips or retainer?

Just goes to show looks can be deceiving, looks great in the pix but as you say, a bit crusty underneath  All good though, metal is metal. The engine and gearbox were shot when I bought it. I put a low mileage 301.28 95 bhp engine in it. It ran sweet as a nut! Hope you've got welding skills! Hi Dave, yes I've read some of your previous posts about the car and I'm happy to say that engine is still running very nicely. Unfortunately I a...
