Re: Too many projects... again!
Drove the Sprinter for the first time and the new gearbox and steering set up totally transformed it. First time out won it's class and got a trophy for best presented. Sold it a week later :D Going to get the Sud finished and up for sale next. Still deciding on the 155. Definitely keeping the Z4 an...

Re: Too many projects... again!
Hello Gary For me It’s the Sud 16v, (I’m biased as I have one and it took me ages to finish it also) and the 155 as it is one of the most iconic cars in BTCC history. I have a question for you if you don’t mind; my son and I are refreshing our 33 racer - the ex Nick Anderson car - and we fancy copy...

Re: Too many projects... again!
Do you have a preference between FWD and RWD? Do you have a preference between rallying and racing? Which is more important being competitive or having fun? How quickly do you want to be using them? How much do you want to spend? For me i prefer FWD, rallying and knowing I've driven to the best of ...

Re: Too many projects... again!
Over many years with many motorbikes I realised that the ones I got the most fun out of were the ones that could be used in the broadest range. So it depends on how you set the Gulia up as to how much fun it would be. An the Arbarth the same I guess. So one with broad focus and one with a narrow on...

Re: Too many projects... again!
Much as the z4 would be epic with the M3 straight 6, I’d try and go with the sud and Tarquini. However if push came to shove then the Sud and the z4, bit of modern racing in the zed and classic in the sud. Suspect tarquini needs a lot of work but with the U.K. Dunlop series you might get a decent a...

Too many projects... again!
I'm not sure how this keeps happening, I sell some projects but then more appear. I think I may have a problem. But something(s) need to go and I need to get a grip  . I have an Ae86 historic rally car. While I can appreciate the engineering, I don't enjoy driving it very much or even looking a...

Re: AROC Class B Alfasuds (Where are they now?)
I think AROC have put all the old magazines online. If you're a member you can go back and look through old race reports. Michael Lindsay would often mention new drivers and the history of their cars if they had any. Good luck.

3 new shells but still the same old car It was Class F spec when I sold it. I honestly have no idea who to. He hadn't raced before so I didn't know him and I stopped following motorsport for a bit after that.

Re: AROC Class B Alfasuds (Where are they now?)
By coincidence I actually bought two ex Frank Manning Cars. One back in the early 90s which I reshelled into another sud and then reshelled again into a 33 after a big crash at Quarry. The second car I purchased direct from Frank in the late 90s and is the one I sold to Veesix75.

I’d put a 2.0 16v TS On throttle bodies With Omex management on it mated to the 1300 box With LSD out back. It’d be a sweet project And id jump at it If I didn’t already have 3 on the go That said Gary how much for just the car With no engine or box Hey LooLoo, As a forum special deal, I'd take wha...

Hey Tim, Exactly, too many projects. The Z4 is nearing completion. Then I am going to get the Sud finished and will probably sell it. then start on the 155! 1974 Giulia Twin Spark Project
Due to change of regs, plans and too many projects my 1974 Giulia 1300 Super is up for sale. Thought I would offer it here first. It's a South African import but even the African sun cant save these from some rust. It does need new front floor pans( Shown in pics) New floor pans are available from C...

Re: Alfasud racecar build
Why not put another seat in it and use the Su D for rallying? In the open classes it will work around engine cc,s Rsfruitbat I have considered it. But it would need more changes than just putting in an extra seat. The biggest factor is the engine is too peaky for rally use and it revs too high for ...

Re: Alfasud racecar build
Hi Gary, I’ve seen the sud a few times, I was at Daves about a month ago. It looks great. The z4 had been painted and I took a quick look at Tarquini hiding at the back. If you are selling the sud you might want to check the regs on a few classic series over here, might be worth sticking to inboard...

Re: Alfasud racecar build
I thought I would update this thread for anyone wondering what the hell happened. Since I started this project 3 years ago quite a lot has changed and life has moved on. The Sud was put on the back-burner while the Z4 GT4 was rebuilt. That is nearing completion but in the meantime I have got more an...

Re: AROC Class B Alfasuds (Where are they now?)
Hope you guys can help my poor memory.. when I was about 18 / 19 years old, I worked for alfatech racing in Luton for a while. Run by Rob emberton. I wasn't there that long. There was a lady that used to race a green 4 door and, her name was Jane something? Can anyone remember the car? It would hav...

Re: AROC Class B Alfasuds (Where are they now?)
Nice pics...the yellow David Thomas Sud and the green Ted Sud are one and the same car. Steve Dymoke has another almost identical Sud to replace the one written off - I assume it was a new build rather than an ex Class B car. The one written off might have been yhe blue one in your pics or ex Phil ...

Re: Moving to the dark side.
Yes, a whole lot of eBaying will be going on! Parts are not as expensive as you would think. Also the Z4 shares a lot of parts from other BMWs. The plan is to return it to GT4 spec, so a s54 straight 6 and standard 6 speed with a Drexler diff. Hopefully around 400bhp and under 1200kgs. I was tempted...
