Bit late to comment as you'll be up there, Tim, but I'll be nearby this weekend as I'm at the Imp Club weekend at Darlington, so might try to sneak into Croft to see some of the racing - quite a few Imps out in Historic saloons..:)

Anyway, just to let you know, if the MSA come up with my licence in time, I should be making my re-appearance on track for the first time in nearly five years at Mallory (CSCC) this weekend, in the ex-Dave Messenger 75 V6 with my mate Steve Jay, who I've raliied and raced with for about 40 years......

As for the ex Dave Messenger 75 have you checked & tried the brakes cos they were a bit crap the last time it raced at Mallory!! :( Good luck if you get out to race. Oddly enough it is the area that we've probably spent most time on - new larger master cylinder, all re-piped, new pads etc....but wh...

Ah, so this is where you're hiding.......;) I'll confess to having owned a Mk2 Golf GTi.....it was a good car, really - no character, but tough and dependable, once I'd got over the initial corroded fusebox issue........ Anyway, good to see the Sud's performance at Brands, sorry I couldn't get down ...
