Re: Who to rebuld an engine

Hi, block, crankshaft, rods are basically the same (blocks before 1990 don't have holes to attach power steering pump), you can eventually mix them more attention with the design of the pistons, that shoud fit the correct heads from 1987 they changed the combustion chamber design (allowing use of lo...

Hi, sharing this here so it can be found with an internet search: Front suspension of alfa 33 S3 had these steps: - from 1989-10: 4 bolts system > coils 321 mm > coils 311 mm on 33 Q.V. (> other specific coils on 33 TD) - from 1991-06-15: 4 bolts system lowered height > lowered 311 mm coils are used...

Re: Cut out on brake pads

Not sure, but I think the cut is to help gas forming on hot disk surface
under strong braking to exit a bit more and so retard brake fading?

Drilled disk I read they have the same function, help eventually forming
gas to quit surfaces avoiding they can do air cushion between pads and disk

Hi, can I ask you if your engine has twin lob cam/tappets systems or the shims cam/tappets systems? I think the more easy way to know (unless some heads swap) what engine is to read the engine code on the block ( as you did, 30520 for ex.); (and sometimes two different codes refesr to the same engin...

Hi, one first thing I will check is if coil lower ball bearing (I mean the ball bearing under the lower coil plate) are shot. Another small upgrade will be modify strut top ending to apcet top mount from alfa 33 last model (90-94) that have another additional small ball bearing also in the top mount.

I'm not sure but regular rims for golf could be ET 38mm ? using your rims with ET 33 you have a 'virtual spacer' of 5 mm (and maybe also some more millimeters due to larger than regular rims, 6"). With the conrods, I think you should weight and mach with other conrods eich side of the conrod (small end and big end, and so also total weight), https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-j_u6POcdCjQ/VPtAL1BZpiI/AAAAAAAATbA/GrQsTUfCiJQ/w453-h602-no/IMAG1746.jpg http://www.ciaocrossclub.it/root/discoremoto...
