Re: chassis numbers

Hi, you can use this email address:
centrodocumentazione@museoalfaromeo.com
I used it to get info on the Giulia. Took a couple of weeks, but very helpful.

Re: Alquati Alfasud manifold

Hi, it sounds like the one I bought from Colin, and then sold on with the old turquoise race car. I never fitted it, but if I'm right and it is that one Colin should be able to talk you through it. Did you buy it if a guy from Preston, or Bolton area? Think it was one of those he came from.

Re: BBC 4 at 8 pm

I think the starfighter is quite maligned , as I understand it (and I'm no expert) it was used primarily for a purpose it wasn't designed for. My pal (the one I mentioned earlier) his dad in his latter years in the raf used to train the Luftwaffe to fly the starfighter, I'm guessing in the early 80'...

Did you get a write up in a custom car magazine? Or did you not get time to turn the boot into a massive bass box?

Re: BBC 4 at 8 pm

I'm ashamed to say my history knowledge is very poor indeed, but my best pal was one of the first to fly the Euro fighter (after it was released to the raf) He signed up for an extra 3 years for the sole purpose of getting in it after the delays. Anyway my point is he always reckoned the U.K. Had to...

My garage too is getting much better. I have carpeted the floor and improved through ventilation. Although not perfect this was enough to make a very big improvement.

I'm afraid I don't have any real knowledge of them, but I do pass by a house where there has been one for several years. It still looks clean, tidy and in use so I assume they are happy with it.. not much help I'm sorry.

A bit off topic, but I amazed at some of the ingenuity and engineering I read about on this forum, many times I have thought CAF could have put a good team together on that scrap yard challenge program. Worth bearing in mind if it's still on the telly, and unlike me you would be willing to appear on...

Thanks all for the comments and advice. Yes quite a bit to do! Don't have the old seals so will need to risk new ones I'm afraid! Engine wise is a bit of a mystery actually! It was sold to me as a 160 bhp 1750 rebuilt engine! I never believed the stated bhp, wondered about the depth and quality of t...

Re: Giulia Super

Well, after shrew delivered her to me about a month ago, this was the first time she's been out of the garage for an inspection. I'm pretty happy! I wiped her down with a soft damp cloth and inspected the paintwork. I'm now expert but not bad, a few chips, a couple of very small marks. A thin mist o...

When I was a kid, I once got a lift of someone with a 1275 gt. it was absolutely immaculate apart from about half a dozen holes in the roof lining, I was telling how much I liked his car, but questioned what the holes were. He told me I'd work it out one day! I've just got it! That's solved a 28 yr ...

Thanks for the replies and advice guys. I thank a multi pronged approach is necessary here! Apparently metal starts to rust above 40% humidity - according to a bloke on the internet anyway! So I'm going to take a good look into this, and in the mean time sealing the floor and walls, putting carpet d...

Garage advice?

Hi folks. Well, moved into the new house, and the Giulia has arrived expertly delivered from the south coast by Shrew, but! The garage has a galvanised tin roof and suffers terribly from condensation. I was thinking of insulating with kingspan with a small gap between that and the corrugated tin. Ho...

I bet it was quite exciting in most of South America in the 90's! I've always quite fancied visiting, but nowadays I don't think that is likely to happen. Still it is the source of one of my favourite jokes! Where about a are the Andes?

I'll try and do better when I build mine! It sits very high at the minute the chap was building it as a rally car apparently.
