2019 shows 200 SORN and 75 licensed combined. Have a look at the Sprints though 36 cars total. Not sure how accurate those figures are....

Re: Another Sprint owning new member
Adjusted the valve clearances yesterday after noticing she was making a bit of a ‘clack clack clack’ noise after the run out to the NAD at Bicester....sure enough all the gaps where too large. However, thinking about it over night I may have adjusted them too tight. I adjusted the gaps so the larges...

The garage managed to well and truly miss the Christmas deadline for the return of my GTV6...there's a tale behind why which I may go into at some point but on the upside things have started to move forward. Yesterday it was dug out of its tarpaulin covered tomb, washed and put into the workshop.......

Re: Another Sprint owning new member
Oil and filter change for the Sprint today ahead of a possible (weather dependant) trip to the AROC Cotswold day on the 16th. Noticed the oil warning light wasn’t working, sender ok, dash out and bulb ok, hmmm. Years ago I’d repaired the PCB as it was cracked and broken on the left hand connector. S...

I just started to watch a few of these and I must say I find both of the ‘stars’ annoying and incompetent, as for giving up their daytime jobs and living of the profits......it’s a tv show duh! Don’t you get paid FFS!

Re: Another Italian project
The clutch release arm on the later x19s was changed in that the arm spring was moved to pull the arm against the release bearing instead of pulling it away. This gave a self adjustment of sorts as the clutch plate wears down, however, it means the release bearing is always engaged even if under lig...

Yup, 350 mile round trip. Great weather and beer! No issues other than the manifold to exhaust joint started to leak and it got a bit noisy at speed around 70. Managed to tighten it when I got back.

Oh I don’t know, I’ve questioned my sanity on many occasions with this car! Planning a trip to Doncaster next weekend to see some old mates so changed the oil yesterday, my how time flies. I’ve done 1800 miles in a year and this will be the longest trip yet....that’s if the weather behaves itself....

Re: Escort Hunter Killer
That’s some serious modifications to the dolly motor, the heads where always an issue, the studs didn’t help and there where revised versions from BL at the time. Along with a low flow water pump and silted radiators the heads warped easily. The quality of the casting was poor at best. The spark plu...

Wow are they still racing the 16v Dolomite Sprints? I had one back in the eighties tuned by SAH Luton I think, road spec, I never raced it... I love driving that car but the engine was fragile and it didn’t go around corners that well! I stuck it in a ditch once in the wet LOL!

Re: Another Sprint owning new member
Fixed the leak today, pin hole in the pipe. Only had to lower the near side of the tank to get at it. Easy fix I just cut a slightly longer rubber fuel hose and pushed it further up the pipe so it covered the hole and secured it with a couple of pipe clips. No excuse now, I need to insure and tax it...

Re: Another Sprint owning new member
Didn’t drive the Sprint much last year as attention was taken up by the x1/9, but thought I’d better make an effort and get her MOT’d and back on the road. So on impulse I decided to Insure her and get one done...bit of a panic 20 mins before my ‘slot’ I found the screen washers weren’t working. The...
