Re: Gearbox gear selector oil seal replacement

I’m about to try and replace the gear selector input shaft oil seal, think i may have a problem accessing the roll pin as well! But how do you remove the oil seal with the selector shaft still in place? I take it that i the shaft doesn’t pull out?

Re: 33 Fuel Pump Relay fuse

Do you know what the fuel pump is rated at?

Even de-rating a 15amp fuse by 50% (typical 25% at 25c) it should have more than enough headroom for a fuel pump I would have thought...maybe the pump is partially seized or you have too much resistance in the supply wire...

My old Sud....

Found some pics of my old Greenclover leaf, a car I should never had sold. Seems it may have gone to the scrap yard some time ago :( https://i.postimg.cc/wMKkFKg5/FUD76Y.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/LsXv8BxP/FUD76Y-1.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/gJLDvcFk/FUD76Y-3.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/CKQ7BB2Q/FUD76Y-4.j...

Re: Electrical gremlins

To join the chorus: mine does that as well....but not all the time! The warning bulb operates on a differential voltage, alternator output on one side and battery voltage on the other. When the engine is not running one side of the bulb is connected to 0v via the alternator/regulator with the other ...

Re: An introduction and my 1980 1.5 super

Really nice Sub, don’t see many of those around. I did the relay conversion on my Fiat x1/9 it makes a huge difference. This is a video from an American kit supplier but you should get the gist....the only thing I’d do different to the video is use 4 relays and not jumper the 12v from one headlight ...

Re: All weather Car covers

I’ve used a Hamilton Moltex car cover on my x1/9 before I sold it. Good and bad points: don’t pull at the seams they can come apart despite the stitching and material glue they use. They do breath but if the weather is dry take the opportunity to remove it and air the car. If it rains hard the car w...

Water temp light but not normal to have it on later cars unless you’ve replaced the sender with an early one

Re: Register your Sud please

And whilst I’m at it on a mini rant(!) the AROC used to allow the recording of what cars you had in your membership details, I note that you can no longer enter those details. I’d be curious to know if that’s a GDPR requirement or just an oversight

Re: Register your Sud please

What organisation have you given your details to? An online purchase with a merchant will have a GDPR policy in place and will be a recognised business or organisation unless you are being scammed! This doesn’t say and it doesn’t tell you how your data is secured or handled. The AROC has GDPR but he...

Re: Register your Sud please

Not going to do it sorry Gary. You are asking for personal data and I don’t see any GDPR policy other than Google’s and I’m sure as hell not letting them have my details. I suggest you find another way to process this information within the AROC preferably

Up to 5% ethanol shouldn’t be an issue if you have upgraded all flexible fuel hoses, you may need to richen the mixture a touch though, keep an eye on the plug colour. As for Esso, they state: Esso super unleaded petrol (Synergy Supreme+ Unleaded 97) is ethanol free (except in Devon, Cornwall, the T...

Loads of shielded twin core cables available Lou suggest you get a foil and braid shielded cable. Current requirements will be low. Check out CPC or RS components for ideas...they sell it in bulk mainly but sometimes by the metre.
