Re: The sad End of an Era

Yes, as we all have said, we are that last generation of old school who like a car to be a machine that you connect with and communicate via controls and information dials. We are not that generation who get excited about an i-phone screen with apps. I totally acknowledge the development of cars wit...

Wow Lou, you have really gone to town on the MG.
Great work and another thorough rebuild.
Didn't notice the Sud on its side at first.

Very nice. There has always been something about the Zagato that really appeals to me. Had a corgi or dinky one when I was a kid. Liked the side opening bonnet. :geek:

Thanks for the update.
This photo shows how low mine sat. It shook your fillings out. The car did six miles like that. (MOT station and back) then i fitted the standard ones back on.

Re: 1984 Alfasud Gold Cloverleaf Shock absorbers/dampers

Your car is sitting really nice now. How does it feel on the road.
I tried some on mine once and it was too low for me and was too hard on the road. I sold them to a guy who fitted them to his 33. Often wondered about the Sudshop ones.

Nice one Tim, you forget how many adverts for Alfas there used to be in magazines, and not just motorsport ones.
Where would the track be that "75" was taken?
Imagine getting dropped off at school in a stripped out race car. 8-)

I could never understand how they made a feature of "doing the brakes" then filmed the car locking up at the rear and squirming sideways on the road.

So is the twin carb engine a 1.7 ?.
Would that head be ok with new valves and guides or would there be other damage?
Looks the same colour my Sud started out with.

Wow, that is an interesting Sud and rare to see an old Giulietta. Not many of them about even on the road let alone in motorsport.
As said, frightening fees to compete.

Re: Welding to sills

Dave, that flange actually sandwich's three pieces together.
There is an inner strengthening panel that runs inside the sill. Outer sill on one side and the floor flange on the other.
Meeting at 90 degrees with the inner in the middle.
