Re: Body panels

1990 33 1.7 16v Green Cloverleaf. Think that's what it says on the log book. Bought it a few years back from a Alfa specialist who bought it of a guy who used it for track days. I made it road legal. Dreaded rust put it off the road.

Sud or 33 ?

When you say slam panel, do you mean the flat section above the radiator across the front inner wings ?

I think I have a used but good straight sud one.
Sorry I meant 33. The panel that the headlights sit in and the panel that the rad sits on.

Where does everyone get bodypanels from or do you just make your own bits to cut out the rust?

Cheers guys I'll definitely do the steering rack then. Yep the dizzy is just an empty housing with a rotor arm. I'll search for the Greek guy lol. It's got an equal length manifold on at the moment but it's a bit fooked so will get it replaced. Regarding the shocks I dont know if they've been re val...

Just a few questions sorry

Just a few questions probably been asked before. Want to get rid of the power steering and go to unassisted. Did any of the earlier 33 or sud have unassisted racks? The engine is 1.7 16v motronic, love the sound of carbs and the look af the engine bay with carbs in there. Now the question is can I j...

Re: I'm going to be a massive pest now....Sorry :D

Flywheels can be lightened, I’m not an expert in doing it, what spec is the engine going to be, high revs etc ? There may be a trade between too light and too heavy . Mine has a standard flywheel lightened, and a paddle clutch, I think helix. The clutch is either on or off, not much in between. It ...

Re: I'm going to be a massive pest now....Sorry :D

That all looks very familiar. My sprint is similarly dismantled although that’s to treat rust in the engine bay. Yuk You must be aware of goodies like these if you’ve a racing 33. http://www.ahmotorsports.co.uk/product/steel-race-flywheel-and-184-single-or-twin-plate-clutch/ Oh yeah I've made a big...

So finally I have taken the engine out. Clutch and bearing are knackered so will be looking to replace those.
Can anything be done to flywheel? Lightened etc. And any optional clutches?

Re: Engine mods

I'm starting to approximately price things up now, the omex stuff is pretty simple really and then just shop around for the cheapest price. Where do I get the trumpets and socks from? And is it best to just to get any 8v flywheel and have it skimmed and stuff or just how it is?

Re: Engine mods

Wow nice replies. I think I had a price of you for the carb setup I'll have a look. Sound nice too a set of carbs. I have recently aquired a 166 3.0 super which has the 4 pot brembos. So I have the brakes. The suspension is low and stiff and handles well if not a bit skittish on rear end. Good info ...
