Re: Non return valve

There lots of cheap electric fuel pumps on the market but bought a pacet one. Got the impact kill switch from some company like car builder. Didn't want it to keep pumping fuel if I crashed 😀

Re: Drive shaft came loose

The Sud is all back together and working better than ever now. A lot of work in a domestic garage in the recent heat wave. A big thank you to Darren Ward for selling me a spare gearbox and also for spotting a new nearside caliper on Ebay Italy. Tomorrow the Sud is off to Auto Bodywork Repairs in Bra...

Drive shaft came loose

I forgot to post on here that I had an utter disaster with the Sud last week. The driveshaft came loose whilst driving. I thought I would just be able to replace the broken spacer and replace the bolts. But, unfortunately the caliper bolts have ripped out and broken the the gearbox casing. I did use...

The old car service managers saying when you take the car back "they all do that sir!" applies here. I've done everything on mine like you have including putting thicker cables to the alternator and battery. And guess what? The battery light still glows underload😭

Re: Series 3 Sud plastic side trim

With regards to the sill trim if you look underneath you should see some clips shaped like a cross. If you carefully turn them 1/8 of a turn (45 degrees) and wiggle them out with a pair of pliers. They are a square peg in a square hole so when fitting they are pushed in and turned an 1/8 of a turn t...

Re: Raining in

The aftermarket ones fitted never had drain tubes as were just a hole cut in the roof then the sunroof bolted in place, As Keith says, take the glass out and clean the rubber seal and the glass where it sits against the seal. A thin smear of Vaseline won't hurt either. So I believe Kev :D

I think Firstline are part of the old Borg & Beck set up. They have an RDC next to the M40.

I quite like Febi Bilstein, TRW, Brembo, Gates, Dayco, Mintex, EBC, Mann, Bosch, Imasaf, Valeo, Holts, Prestone to name a few.

Windscreen Wiper Motor

Has anybody tried to upgrade their windscreen wiper motor by fitting one from a newer car?

There seems to be quite a few universal ones that look similar in size and layout but don't want to take the plunge without checking.

Also has anyone upgraded their washer nozzles?

Re: Opinions sought - control arms condition

I strengthened mine by welding them when I had them off the car.

I couldn't believe such a weak looking design could take the force of a Sud cornering hard.

Andrew, as you are a Bilt Hamber fan it is worth spraying the insides of them with Dynax S-50 if you've got some.

Re: Oil Pressure Sender

Hello Lauren

A few months back I bought a Kerr Nelson SOP141 off Ebay for around £8

I can't see the link on Ebay anymore but it may be worth searching elsewhere.

It is the correct thread and pressure range.

You just need to add a separate earth lead as it doesn't earth through the body.

Re: Alfashop Exhaust Tailpipe

I've used them before and they were very good then.

If we try to use them more often they may source more Sud parts for us.

I could have got one similar from Germany for about £10 less but chose to support Alfa shop in the UK especially in the current climate. Not sure it was an IMASAF one though.
