I've done it with the engine in place. It's a nightmare compared to dropping the engine and box as a complete unit.
It'd be far easier to deal with the cross threaded manifold stud.

Re: Vacuum Leaks/running issue under load
That's almost identical to the problems I had with mine (16v on carbs) when I rebuilt the car. I thought it was a ignition problem so changed the everything and after all that it wasn't much better. I eventually traced into fuel flow, rather than fuel pressure. Swapped the fuel pump and beefed up th...

Re: 123 Programable Distributor
Hi folks, Picked up one of these yesterday for my 16v. Seems to be an excellent piece of kit. The engine has been running on carbs with an old 1.3l Bosch dizzy for +e last 10 years so I've programmed a standard ignition curve into the 123. Now that I gave the ability to adjust, I'm wondering g if an...

Back in the early days of my 33 ownership, way back when AO was the place to be, this car represented everything I wanted mine to become.

Hi folks, another resurrection of this thread. I'm nearly at the end of a full resto on a s3 33 and am redoing the brakelines.
My pre strip pictures are missing detail on which of the front lines go into which input port on the regulator. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I've a set of the motorman ones (one of the few that don't leak it seems) and they don't have those ridges where the coolant pipes connect.

I had a new set of bolts made up with small holes drilled in the head to allow me to wirelock them into place. I lost a sud driveshaft at speed destroying a gearbox and brake calliper in the process as the disc made a break for freedom.

Re: Bendix drums
I did it on mine a few years ago. Strategically drilled a hole in the backplate to allow me to adjust them manually as both of mine were broken. It worked ok but meant I had to keep an eye on the balance between them and they were awkward to adjust as the teeth on the adjuster were very fine and ang...

Not to worry, surprisingly, there's plenty of bits out there at the moment. I haven't been looking for anything that couldn't be found. I even picked up a NOS rear bumper for €200 incl delivery from Italy! On the monroe shocks, that's a full replacement strut too though, not just the insert. I'll ha...

Thanks, I would never gave thought ofJohn for the konis although he was next on the list for the spring pans! The monroe struts are €140 each, which is about half of what I was quoted for the replacement struts when I last checked 5/6 years ago. Will check with John and see what comes up. The shoppi...

Alfa 33 Front Suspension - Options?
Howdy Folks, Restoration of my S3 is well underway with all the welding complete and the shell sent off for paint last Friday. With the body gone, I've turned my attention to the suspension. The car had the original Boge struts which are kaput. I've found some monroe replacements for a very reasonab...

Left hand drive? Anyway. Sorry, sidetracked! I quite like Gravigard, particularly for areas to be body coloured like sills, front and back panels. Hi folks, I'm in the middle of a fairly major restoration on my 33. (Taster below) I've just finished patching up the cills and floor pan and am thinking about how to protect it. As above really, I'm going to be in the market for good non-colour coded 33 S3 bumpers in the next few months. I'm based in Ireland but will collect if necessary. They must be in really good condition. The ones that came off the car are presentable but have some scuffs on the corners that will let t...
