Re: Coolant tank beige hose

I would like some beige hose if you do manage to find any.
The other hose I never managed to find is the yellow braided hose between the brake fluid reservoir and the clutch master cylinder-have you been able to source any of that ?

I can’t picture the S2 but on a S3 each of the headlamp units has an earth tag and an earth wire fixes to them

Good news that there is no rust in the body
I guess the trim might be difficult to get as some of it was unique to the SA cars

They look really good
If you have success with the white plastic fuel/brake pipe clips I will happily buy some as l managed to break the first one I tried to remove today - didn’t even try any of the others after that

Re: Another one to keep me busy!

That’s really interesting to know how they arrived into SA I wonder what sort of protection the body shells had during transport if they were painted once they arrived at the SA factory? Maybe they were painted in primer in Italy before being shipped as otherwise I guess the corrosion issues would h...

Re: Another one to keep me busy!

Hi Colin Is that the car that featured in Autoitalia magazine with the Giardinatta a while ago ? Do you or anyone else know how much assembly was done in South Africa e.g. were complete body shells built there or where they shipped out there as pre built body shells and just assembled out there. Loo...

Re: Gearbox tail mount

It should be fitted with the “line” in the side of the rubber at the bottom i.e. the way it’s shown in your picture. When refitting the engine I always adjust the height on the top bulkhead mount that it hangs from so that the bar in the rear mount just touches the top of the hole in that rubber bus...

I think that to select high beam you press the end of the stalk and the button pops out
To flash them you pull the stalk back

Re: Hi/Lo beam switching

The later chrome bumper sprints had the S3 switch from new so it may not have been retrofitted. I had a Y registered sprint and that had the S3 switch (originally the switch was brown plastic rather than black plastic like the saloon & Ti models) I think the only extra thing that gave you was in...

Wow - not seen a PRO1 for a while
Remember using that in my Alfa/Fiat dealer days
From what I remember it was just a big breakout box for checking the wiring instead of probing the pins at the ecu connector
Hope it helps with your diagnosis

Re: SPRINT RESURRECTION

That doesn't sound right - are you sure the lower spring pan is the right type or is it damaged ? The strut bearing should just easily fit through the hole in the lower spring pan and go through it far enough for the upper "lip" of the bearing housing to be visible so the rubber dust boot ...

Re: SPRINT RESURRECTION

That rear wing is for a very early car as it has the recess to get your finger in to open the flap From my memory only the first series 1 cars with the 1286cc engine had this I guess the flap may be different ? No idea about the rubber seal but if there are any sprints at National Alfa Day the Sunda...

Not sure that you need to disconnect the battery, I have never done this when coding new keys.
Your type of key is what I am familiar with, so that method should work fine
I left the Alfa dealer world in 1997 so never got involved with the later type of keys

Re: Key codes and transponders

From what I remember this is the procedure The only thing the makes the "Master" key be a master key is that it is the very first key ever used so that is the first one in the memory of the yellow code box and the engine ECU. To "open" the memory and allow any more keys to be cod...
